GUWAHATI: As many as 11,324 candidates came out successful for grade III posts in the state. The State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-III Posts declared the results today, and the recruitment commission for Grade IV Posts will declare the results for 14,281 vacancies tomorrow.

Before declaring the results, Chairman of the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-III Posts Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani said, “After its constitution, the Commission received requisitions from 47 departments and issued an advertisement on March 25, 2022. A total of 9,21,634 applications were received online in response to the said advertisement, out of which 8,28,860 candidates appeared in the written test. Written tests were conducted for three levels of qualifications: (i) graduate level (for posts where the minimum required qualification is Bachelor degree/Bachelor degree with computer), (ii) HSSLC level (for posts where the minimum qualification is HSSLC or HSSLC in Science), and (iii) HSLC level (for posts of driver). After the written test, shortlisted candidates were called for a computer skill test, stenography skill test, or driving skill test. Based on the combined marks of the written test as well as the skill test, the final merit lists against 11,510 posts had been prepared and the results were declared, and 11,324 of the candidates were found to be successful and provisionally selected for appointment.”

Among the successful candidates, 2,421 belong to the general category; 4,485 belong to OBC; 956 belong to SC; 1,253 belong to ST(P); 535 belong to ST (H); 1,664 belong to EWS (Economically Weaker Section); 270 belong to Persons with Disabilities; 85 are ex-servicemen; and 2,661 belong to reserved vacancies for women.

The recruitment commission found no suitable candidates for 22 posts of driver and 164 posts of stenographer. Bhutani said that the posts having higher grade pay have been filled by candidates scoring higher marks as per Rule 13(2)(b) of the Assam Direct Recruitment for Class III and Class IV Analogous Post Rules, 2022.

He said that the department-wise allotment to selected candidates would be done by a process of randomization through software developed by NIC in the presence of independent observers on May 5. The candidates will know their allotted departments on the Assam government website, https://assam.gov.in, on May 9.
