GUWAHATI: The state government has decided not to transfer any Circle Officer (CO) before completion of two years of service at one place.
This decision has been taken in view of numerous Circle Officers applying for transfer to other locations. The Revenue and Disaster Management issued an official order in this regard after the matter came to the notice of the state government.
According to departmental sources, frequent transfers of COs is not permitted as per official rules and it is desirable that they should discharge their ground-level work properly at the place of current posting.
However, the sources clarified that any specific CO will be transferred if there is any serious complaint of misconduct.
Another reason for the latest order regarding transfers is that the COs will have to play a crucial role in implementation of Mission Basundhara 2.0, the sources added.
