GUWAHATI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has a busy schedule. Besides carrying out parliamentary and assembly constituency delimitation exercises in Assam, the Commission is also working on the 2024 Lok Sabha poll in the country. It has trained 60 Assam Government officials in New Delhi as state-level master trainers for conducting elections.
According to sources in the Election Department, the state-level master trainers will impart training on conducting elections to district-level poll officials.
The ECI has already published the schedule for the special summary revision of the photo electoral roll for 2024. According to the schedule, the ECI will publish the integrated draft photo electoral roll on October 17, 2023; the period for filing claims and objections will be from October 17–November 30; the disposal of claims and objections by December 26, 2023; and the publication of the final photo electoral roll by January 5, 2024.
