GUWAHATI: The final photo electoral roll 2020 of Assam published on Friday shows that the highest number of electors in the State are its youths in the age group of 18-29. When viewed LAC-wise, while Dispur LAC has the highest number 3,86,158 electors, Thowra LAC in Sivasagar district has the lowest number of 1,12,942 voters. The final roll has registered a rise of 1.88 per cent voters when compared to the draft photo electoral roll.
According to the State Election Department, the State now has a total of 2,23,63,502 electors – 1,13,94,405 males and 1,09,69,097 females. In the draft electoral roll published on December 23, 2019 the total electors in the State was 2,19,50,097. Thus the increase in the number of electors in the final photo electoral roll when compared with the draft photo roll is 4,13,405.
The highest number of 66,01,475 electors fall is in the age group of 18 to 29 years – 5,10,064 from 18-19 years of age and 60,91,411 from 20-29 years of age. The number of 80 years+ electors in the State is 2,64,298.
According to the department, while Ratabari LAC has 1,69,055 electors; Silchar LAC has 2,22,542 electors; Haflong LAC has 1,40,276 electors; Diphu LAC has 1,92,589 electors; Mankachar LAC has 2,16,639 electors; Dhubri has 1,90,819 electors; Kokrajhar West LAC has 1,80,610 electors; Kokrajhar East has 1,85,155 electors; Bongaigaon LAC has 1,69,957 electors; Goalpara East has 2,12,906 electors; Barpeta LAC has 1,96,162 electors; Jalukbari has 1,95,156 electors; Gauhati East has 2,28,214 electors; Gauhati West has 2,78,659 electors; Nalbari has 2,00,697 electors; Mangaldai has 2,29,361 electors; Udalguri has 1,53,003 electors; Tezpur has 1,80,686 electors; Biswanath has 1,56,724 electors; Nowgong has 1,78,122 electors; Jorhat has 1,77,331 electors; Majuli has 1,28,031 electors; Sivasagar has 1,49,748 electors; Lakhimpur has 1,78,846 electors; Jonai has 3,02,471 electors; Dibrugarh has 1,41,637 electors, Tinsukia has 1,68,898 electors and Sadia has 1,83,366 electors.
