DIBRUGARH, Jan 16: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has termed Saturday as a 'Red Letter Day' with Assam along with rest of the country launching the COVID-19 vaccination drive.
As a part of the pan-India COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Chief Minister attended the session site at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh and launched the rollout of the inoculation drive on Saturday morning.
Sonowal while handling over a freezer box containing vaccines urged the administering officials to maintain a humane approach, educate the recipients of the vaccines to make the drive fruitful. He was also present at the site when Principal of AMCH Dr Sanjiv Kakati received the first shot of the vaccine. He also talked to the other recipients namely Dr R.P. Medhi, Dr Girin Gogoi, Dr Shantanu Lahkar and Dr Hem Chandra Kakati. Sonowal also held discussion with other doctors and paramedics who will be in charge of carrying out the vaccination drive.
