AASU and SEBA decides to hold HSLC exams after normalcy

The AASU (All Assam Students’ Union) and the SEBA (Board of Secondary Education, Assam) have decided to hold the HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) examinations in the State as and when the COVID-19 situation in the State returns to normalcy.

GUWAHATI: The AASU (All Assam Students' Union) and the SEBA (Board of Secondary Education, Assam) have decided to hold the HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) examinations in the State as and when the COVID-19 situation in the State returns to normalcy.

The leaders of the students' body held a meeting with the SEBA authority at the latter's office here on Saturday.

Talking to the media after the meeting, AASU's chief adviser Samujjal Bhattacharjya said, "Keeping an eye on the health of the students, we need to see that the academic year is not missed."

AASU president Dipanko Kumar Nath said, "The HSLC examinations will be held as and when the COVID-19 situation in the State will return to normalcy. We're going to hold another round of talks with the SEBA after five days.

"We requested the SEBA authorities to inform the students that the HSLC examinations will be held after normalcy returns."

AASU general secretary Sankor Jyoti Baruah said, "The mindset of the students and their guardians should be taken into consideration while taking any decision on the HSLC examinations."
