GUWAHATI: Demanding immediate withdrawal of CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), the AASU (All Assam Students' Union) brought out bike rallies across the State on Saturday.

AASU president and general secretary Dipanko Kumar Nath and Sankor Jyoti Baruah respectively in a joint press release said, "The democratic movement against CAA will become more vigorous in the days to come."

They added, "A permanent solution must be found to the burning problem of illegal foreigners' influx into Assam; according to the Assam Accord. Each illegal foreigner who entered Assam after March 24, 1971, must be detected and deported from the State.

"AASU will never accept any move made to settle illegal foreigners in the State by implementing the CAA."
