GUWAHATI: All steps will be taken at the earliest to discuss the various issues being faced by the students who are opting to be 'Repeaters' and also those who wish to reappear in certain subjects; or go for 'Re-appearance', 'Betterment', and 'Compartmental' at the Higher Secondary level.

This assurance was given by the Secretary and also the Examination Controller of AHSEC during a meeting with a delegation of the AASU (All Assam Students' Union) that took place here on Sunday.

The AASU delegation led by AASU chief adviser Samujjal Bhattacharjya also comprised the student organization's general secretary Sankar Jyoti Baruah.

Meanwhile, concerning the new evaluation formula for HS final year students for this year, AASU president Dipanko Kumar Nath and general secretary Sankar Jyoti Baruah in a joint press statement said that the new AHSEC evaluation formula of '10-7-5' will deprive the aforementioned students of justice. They added that the Repeaters in Science stream will also be deprived of justice if the new formula of '50-40-10' is followed this year. The AASU leaders, therefore, urged the authorities concerned to resolve these two issues at the earliest.

The AASU stressed that the issues being faced by the students opting to be 'Repeaters' should be resolved with the importance generally accorded to the 'Regular' students.
