All decisions guided by desire to improve people’s lives: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that all decisions taken by the Centre in the past nine years have been guided by the desire to improve people’s lives.

He said this in a tweet to commemorate nine years of the NDA government, which came into power in May 2014.

Modi took oath on May 30, 2019, as the Prime Minister during his second tenure.

"Today, as we have completed nine years in service to the nation, I am filled with humility and gratitude. Every decision made and every action taken have been guided by the desire to improve the lives of people. We will keep working even harder to build a developed India," Modi tweeted.

The Prime Minister shared a creative highlighting numerous initiatives that have transformed millions of lives over the past nine years. He said, "Over the past nine years, we have strived to uphold the dignity and enhance the livelihoods of India’s poorest. Our mission continues to uplift every citizen and fulfil their dreams."

He said that the government provided 9.6 crore LPG connections under Ujjwala Yojana, extended over Rs 27 crore in Mudra loans to women beneficiaries, increased the number of medical colleges from 387 to 693 in the last nine years, India became the third largest startup ecosystem in the world, started more than 79,000 startups in the country, covered 50 crore people for free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh annually under Ayushman Bharat, constructed over 3.50 lakh km of rural roads, extended the metro rail network from five to 20 cities, doubled the number of airports from 74 to 184, etc. (Agencies)
