Guwahati, April 11: Acting chairman of Assam Public Service Commission Brig (retd) Ranjit Borthakur on Tuesday retired from service. Borthakur was appointed as acting chairman of APSC on December 1 following the arrest of its chairman Rakesh Kumar Paul on November 4 in connection with the cash-for-job scam in the Commission. Meanwhile, the State government has appointed Dr Anupam Kumar Roy as the new acting chairman of APSC that conducts the Assam Civil Service examitions. Senior IAS officer Dipak Kumar Sarma has been appointed as new member of APSC. Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of office to Sharma at a ceremony held in Raj Bhavan this evening.
