Interacting with the media after releasing the manifesto on Tuesday morning, BJP national president JP Nadda accused the Congress of misleading the people by making false promises. "The Citizenship (Amendment) Act is a Central law and all States will have to implement the Act. How can the Congress promise of not implementing the law in Assam if the party comes to power?" questioned Nadda.

He assured that the reports and recommendations of the High Level Committee on Clause-VI of the Assam Accord will be implemented in due course of time.

Nadda also questioned the Congress as to what the Opposition party did for the tea community in the last 50 years.

Responding to question of the Congress promising to safeguard Assam's language and culture, Nadda said "Can it be possible for the Congress by having alliance with Badruddin Ajmal?"
