GUWAHATI: The Assam Assembly passed the Supplementary Budget of Rs 7946,23,73,000 for fiscal 2022-23 today.
Finance Minister Ajanta Neog introduced the Assam Appropriation (III) Bill, 2022, in the Assembly that passed it.
With the passage of the Supplementary Budget, the State Government got permission to withdraw the budgeted amount (Rs 7946,23,73,000) from its Consolidated Fund for the current fiscal.
Talking to the media outside the Assembly, Finance Minister Ajanta Neog said, "The projects with funds allocated against them are mostly capital in nature. The allocation for the PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) is around Rs 2,500 crore. It is the highest-ever allocation for the purpose in the past 75 years."
According to the Supplementary Budget, some of the allocations and projects are – Rs 18,700 lakh for the construction of the ferry terminal at Guwahati Gateway Ghat under EAP, Rs 1,000 lakh for Swahid Smarak Khetra and Memorial Park at Boragaon, Rs 1,000 lakh for the construction of Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex at Amingaon, Rs 56.20 lakh for one-time financial assistance to priests and naamgharias, Rs 7325.60 lakh for PMAY-U, Rs 244501.25 lakh for a central share of schemes PMAY-G, Rs 100,000 lakh for Asom Mala of PWD, Rs 50,000 lakh for state priority schemes including Asom Darshan, etc.
