To beautify the Rang Ghar, the State Government has set up a Rs 87.55-lakh project and entrusted the PWD with its execution. The project will be in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) mode. The PWD has already prepared its project report. The State Government is contemplating starting the physical work of the project by the end of this year with a 30-month completion schedule. The PWD has already floated a tender seeking bids.

Rang Ghar is a tourist destination for the people of the State, the rest of India, and abroad. It is near Sivasagar town.

Swargadeo Promotta Singha built the Rang Ghar in 1744 A.D. The two-storeyed Rang Ghar once served as the royal sports pavilion where Ahom kings and nobles were spectators at games like buffalo fights and other sports at Rupahi Pathar, particularly during the Rongali Bihu festival in the Ahom capital of Rangpur.
