Assam Government's New COVID-19 SOP from June 6

Shops to operate till '12 noon' and ban on individual movement from 1 pm

GUWAHATI: Bringing slight relaxations the State government has announced a uniform SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for both urban and rural areas across the State. The new SOP will be effective from 5 am on June 6 to 5 am on June 16, 2021.

According to the new SOP, the ban on individual movement is from 1 pm to 5 am and shops and other commercial establishments will remain closed from '12 noon' on all days across the State. All government and private offices shall remain closed till June 15, 2021.

Restaurants, dhabas and other eateries can entertain dine-in guests only up to '12 noon'. However, taken away including home delivery of food is allowed till 1 pm, after which only home delivery will be allowed.

Cold storages and warehouses may continue after '12 noon'. However, sale counters and showrooms attached to them will not be allowed to operate after '12 noon'. All those associated with essential and emergency services are exempted from all these restrictions. All inter-district transport services and movement of people to and from other districts shall remain suspended. The odd-even number formula for plying of vehicles will continue.
