Assam government modified guidelines for restaurants, e-commerce

The State government has brought a few modifications in its SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) announced on Tuesday, especially for restaurants, e-commerce, cold storage etc.

GUWAHATI: The State government has brought a few modifications in its SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) announced on Tuesday, especially for restaurants, e-commerce, cold storage etc.

Spelling out the modifications on Wednesday, the government said restaurants, dhabas and other eateries can entertain dine-in guests only up to 6 pm. It, however, made it clear that take-away or home delivery would be allowed up to the usual time of closure.

In the case of restaurants operating hotels or resorts could be allowed outside guests up to 6 pm only. However, in-house guests of the hotels/restaurants would be allowed to dine in up to their usual time of operations. The government also spelt it out that the delivery of essential food through e-commerce would be allowed after 6 pm.

In yet another significant relaxation, cold storages and warehouses would be allowed to operate beyond 6 pm. However, the sale counters and showrooms attached to them shall close after 6 pm.

Being essential services; pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centres, veterinary clinics etc., would operate without any restrictions.
