Assam Government shuffles IAS and ACS officers

GUWAHATI: The State Government has effected a reshuffle of its IAS and ACS officers today. With approval from the Chief Minister, the Personnel Department issued an official notification in this regard.

According to the notification, IAS Rajeev Chandra Joshi, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, General Administration Department, and Special Principal Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, is transferred and posted as Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department.

IAS M.S. Manivannan, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, General Administration, Irrigation Departments, and CEO, SITA, is also posted as Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, as an additional charge.

IAS Biswajit Pegu, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home and Political Department, is also posted as Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department as an additional charge.

ACS Mahmood Hassan, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Department, is transferred and directed to report to the Personnel Department for further posting.

In another notification in pursuance of the Election Commission of India's letter dated July 28, 2023, ACS Dhiraj Kr. Jain, Deputy Secretary to the Government of Assam, Department of Housing & Urban Affairs, is transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary to the Government of Assam, Election Department, and Joint CEO (Chief Electoral Officer), Assam.
