Assam Government suspended ACS officer Kumar Surajeet Bora

The State Government has placed an ACS officer under suspension for his authorized absence since May 2022.

GUWAHATI: The State Government has placed an ACS officer under suspension for his authorized absence since May 2022. According to reports, Kumar Surajeet Bora was the deputy secretary of the Border Protection and Development Department. The department informed the Personnel Department that Bora has been absent from the office since May 2022 without any intimation to the authority concerned. The Personnel Department placed Bora under suspension after carefully examining the case.

In its notification, the Personnel Department said, “Departmental proceedings were initiated against Shri Kumur Surajeet Bora, ACS, vide show cause notice issued on March 14, 2023, under the provisions of the Assam Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1964, for his unauthorised absence from office and gross indiscipline and misconduct. On April 25, 2023, Shri Kumur Surajeet Bora submitted his written statement of defence, wherein he has not denied the charges levelled against him and continues to remain absent from office. The Governor of Assam is satisfied that it is necessary and expedient to place Shri Kumur Surajeet Bora under suspension from service with immediate effect. Now, therefore, Shri Kumur Surajeet Bora is placed under suspension under rule 6(1)(a) of the Assam Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1964, with immediate effect.
