Assam-Mizoram boundary row: CM Sarbananda Sonowal sends details to Amit Shah

Following the sequel of boundary rows along the Assam-Mizoram border, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal sent the details of the incidents to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday.

GUWAHATI: Following the sequel of boundary rows along the Assam-Mizoram border, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal sent the details of the incidents to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday. He also asked Chief Secretary JishnuBarua and DGP BhaskarJyoti Mahanta to rush to the area and take stock of the situation. The Chief Minister also talked to Deputy Commissioner of Cachar district, Keerthi Jalli and took stock of the prevailing situation.

While expressing his concern over the boundary row, the Chief Minister asked the police to remain alert and thwart all design that have the potential to vitiate peace and order along the border.

The Chief Minister also expressed his condolences over the death of IntazulLaskar, who was abducted by the miscreants from the Lailapur Border Outpost area of Cachar district along the Assam-Mizoram boundary. The Chief Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the diseased, stated a release.
