GUWAHATI: The CID (Criminal Investigation Department), late Sunday night, detained two more candidates in connection with the recent question paper-leak scam of the Assam Police. They have been identified as Kukumoni Nath and Mrinal Nath from Changchari in Kamrup district. Both have been detained following a confession by another candidate Abhijit Boro, who was arrested from Ghoramara in Guwahati on October 3.

The trio is among the 63 candidates who received hand-written copies of questions along with answers at Hotel Bhargav Grand in Betkuchi here. The incident happened on September 19 – just a day before the slated examination to recruit of 597 Sub Inspectors (SI-unarmed) in the Assam Police was cancelled following leakage of question papers.

During the day, Nalbari Police arrested Aftab Ali from Bhawanipur in Barpeta district. Aftab is reportedly connected with the question paper-leakage issue.

Meanwhile, Police sources hinted that ex-DIG (Deputy Inspector General) of Assam Police PK Dutta will be arrested in a day or two.
