GUWAHATI: The 15th Assam Legislative Assembly will be in its first Budget session from July 12. The session will continue till August 13 with 15 working days.
The government will introduce 14 bills, including the Assam Cattle Preservation Bill 2021, during the Budget session.
After the Question Hour on the first day, the government will place the reports of various departments and a few bills.
This time around, the Assembly Secretariat has digitalized all passes to the Assembly. All getting access to the Assembly have to follow the COVID-appropriate behaviour.
Talking to the media on Sunday, Speaker Biswajit Daimary sought cooperation from all members of the House during the session.
During the recess days (when the House does not have sittings), the department-related standing committees will hold their meetings over the Budget.
The government will introduce 13 other bills during the session. They are –
(i) The Assam Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(ii) The Assam Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(iii) The Assam Taxation (on Specified Lands) (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(iv) The Assam Professions, Trades, Calling and Employments Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(v) The Assam Electricity Duty (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(vi) The Assam Agricultural Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(vii) The Assam Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Bill (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(viii) The Assam Women's University (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(ix) The Majuli University of Culture (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(x) The Bodoland University (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(xi) The Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankardeva Viswavidyalaya (Amendment) Bill, 2021;
(xii) The Bengal, Agra and Assam Civil Courts (Assam Amendment) Bill, 2021, and
(xiii) The Assam Municipal (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
