Oxygen Allocation to Assam: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the State's oxygen production capacity has gone up to 80 MT as against the requirement of 70 MT. He also said that the Central Government has allocated 100 MT oxygen to the State which would be transported by a dedicated train.
Chief Minister Visiting Premier Cryogenics Limited's oxygen plant at Saukuchi in Guwahati and taking stock of the oxygen generation capacity of the plant for boosting oxygen availability in the State, the Chief Minister said fulfilling State's requirement, Assam is helping other NE states of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Nagaland by providing oxygen supply.
Later talking to the newsmen, the Chief Minister thanked Premier Cryogenics Ltd for responding to the State Government's request for restarting the plant, which was closed long back and said that the operationalized unit in the plant is producing 14 MT of oxygen which has boosted the state's oxygen availability. Once the second unit starts functioning in the plant, it would further improve oxygen generation capacity, he said.
MP Pallab Lochan Das, MD of Premiere Cryogenics Ltd Abhijit Barooah were present, among others during the visit of the Chief Minister to the plant, a press release said.
