Chirang district gets UK-aided oxygen generator plant

At the height of shortage of oxygen due to alarming rise of COVID-19 cases across the country, Chirang district will soon have an oxygen generator plant (mobile oxygen concentrator), capable of producing 500 litres of oxygen a minute.

Mobile Oxygen Concentrator Plant in Chirang: At the height of shortage of oxygen due to alarming rise of COVID-19 cases across the country, Chirang district will soon have an oxygen generator plant (mobile oxygen concentrator), capable of producing 500 litres of oxygen a minute.

On Wednesday midnight, officials of Chirang district administration and district health society received an oxygen generator sent by the Central Government under the emergency medical relief COVID-19 pandemic.

India recently got three oxygen generators made by Foreign Commonwealth and Development in donation from the United Kingdom and of which, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, had given approval for installing one on the premises of Chirang district's JSB (Jwhwlao Swmbla Basumatary) Civil Hospital, Kajalgaon and other two at Ajmer and Jhalawar of Rajasthan on the basis of urgency.

Many people of Chirang district hope that the installation of oxygen generator plant at JSB Civil Hospital, Kajalgaon will now able to support the need of patients for oxygen during their COVID-19 treatment.
