GUWAHATI: The CID arrested three other candidates in the case of fake computer certificates for jobs in the state police force. With the three, the CID arrested 11 job-seekers in the case. All are in the custody of the CID. According to CID sources, the three arrested today are Mustafizur Rahman, Atikur Rahman and Oli Ullah.
The CID grilled 22 candidates on Monday, leading to the arrest of eight of them on Tuesday. The court sent all eight to the custody of the CID and asked some other candidates to appear for further interrogation on October 20.
According to CID sources, the investigators collected the specimen handwriting and signatures of the owners and in-charges of the computer institutions. It sent the specimen signatures and handwriting to the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) for analysis and comparison with the computer certificates submitted by the accused candidates. The results of FSL analysis in several cases are still to come. "However, based on the reports already furnished by the FSL, we have arrested eight such candidates," a source in the CID said.
Based on a complaint lodged by the Nodal Officer of the State Level Police Recruitment Board, the CID registered a case (05/2022 U/S 120(B)/420/467/468/471 IPC) and started an investigation.
