GUWAHATI: Guwahati is in the 35th position in the world today for pollution. The AQI (Air Quality Index) of Guwahati was 329 today. Science and Technology Minister Keshab Mahanta informed the House of this today.
Mahanta said that the Government took various measures to check pollution in the state. “On March 21, 2023, the Chief Minister will launch Mission LiFE in the state. Mission LiFE is designed with the objective of mobilizing at least one billion Indians and other global citizens to take individual and collective action for protecting and preserving the environment in the period 2022–2027. The mission has already been launched in several states in India,” Mahanta said.
The concept of LiFE was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at COP26 in Glasgow on November 20, 2021.
