GUWAHATI: Barring Kamrup (M) district, the restriction on inter-district movement of private vehicles will get lifted from Wednesday, since when all shops and other business establishments will remain open till 6 pm all over the state. The curfew in the state will be from 7 pm.

The new SOP (Standard Operating Process) has some conditional changes in religious places. While twenty fully vaccinated people can gather in an iconic place of religion per hour, ten fully vaccinated people can gather in a non-iconic place. Managements will allow the entry of only fully-vaccinated pilgrims. Hotels and restaurants will remain open till 6 pm. All weekly bazaars will remain closed.

The SOP allows public gathering of 200 people in open spaces and only 50 per cent or 200 fully-vaccinated people, whichever is less, in closed venues. The SOP allows intra-district movement of vehicles with 50 per cent capacity. However, the SOP does not allow inter-district movement to-and-from Kamrup (M). Auto-rickshaws, cycle rickshaws, taxis etc., will carry not more than two passengers.

The SOP also allows government officials who have taken only one vaccine dose to attend offices.

In the private sector, their management will take decisions on their own.

According to sources in the Health Department, though the Corona positivity rate in the state is below 1 per cent, in Guwahati, the fall in Covid-19 cases is not as expected. And this is why the restriction on the movement of vehicles to and from Kamrup (M) still exists.

The odd-even number system on the plying of vehicles will not be applicable from Wednesday.

People coming from/going to the airports/railway stations/ISBTs can travel on production of valid tickets.
