GUWAHATI: A sensational daylight robbery took place in the city here on Monday, with a group of masked intruders robbing the flat of a Fancy Bazar-based businessman at the Kiranshree Residency apartment complex on the HS Road at Chatribari.
According to police sources, four robbers entered the fourth-floor flat of one Gautam Chajjer in the afternoon, while one robber waited outside, and looted all the cash and gold ornaments kept in the flat after intimidating the occupants – two women and two children – with weapons. The loot was taken away in a school bag, the sources said.
According to the sources, the robbers hoodwinked the security guard by saying at the time of their entry that they had been sent by the owner of the flat to collect some goods for his business establishment.
Footage of the entry and exit of the robbers has been captured on CCTV cameras, the sources added.
