GUWAHATI: Assam is among the few States in the country to have seven national parks. The State Forest department on Wednesday issued the final notification to declare Raimona in lower Assam and Dihing Patkai in upper Assam as sixth and seventh national parks respectively. Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya told reporters that the development would not only boost wildlife protection measures but also promote tourism.
