Demow CHC registers 573 snake bite cases in 2022

DEMOW: Demow Model Hospital-cum-CHC at Demow Raichai Konwar Dehingia has achieved success in snake bite treatment. The Demow Model Hospital-cum-CHC registered 573 snake bite cases in 2022 (January 1 to December 31, 2022).

The patients of snake bite came from Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Moran, Sepon, Namrup, Charaideo, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Majuli, Jorhat, Mariani, Titabar, Amguri, Nazira, Golaghat and Tezpur and were admitted in Demow Model Hospital-cum-CHC.

"Our team prevented any casualities and registered zero death in 2022," said Dr Surajit Giri, an anesthesia specialist in Demow Model Hospital, has been providing snake bite treatment in Demow Model Hospital-cum-CHC. Dr Surajit Giri also informed that in 2021 and 2022, their team prevented death due to snake bite in Demow Rural Community Health Centre.

In order to boost the morale of the hospital staff of Demow Model Hospital-cum-CHC, a cake-cutting ceremony was organized in Demow Model Hospital-cum-CHC on Monday for zero death in snake bite cases in the last two years in the hospital. On the occasion, the doctors shared their experiences with the patients and also informed the problems of the hospital which they were facing.

Sushanta Borgohain, Thowra MLA, congratulated doctors, nurses and health workers of Demow Model Hospital-cum-CHC for this success. Dr Rupam Borkotoky, Deputy Superintendent of Demow Model Hospital, Dr Prasanta Pratim Sarma, Deputy Superintendent of Demow CHC, Sushanta Borgohain, Dr Gaurav Chaudhuri, Dr SJ Taye along with other doctors, health workers and media persons of Demow along with other dignitaries were present in the programme.
