GUWAHATI: Even though the final photo electoral roll was published on January 18, 2021, all eligible people whose names haven't figured in the final roll can apply for the inclusion of their names.

Making this clear in no uncertain terms, sources in the State Election department said that "all eligible people can apply for the inclusion of their names in the final photo electoral roll till the last date of filing of nomination papers for the forthcoming Assam Assembly election."

The situation remains that the schedule of the State Assembly election hasn't been announced as yet. Of course, the full Election Commission of India visited the State and took stock of the preparations for the Assembly election, recently.

Sources in the State Election department said that the people of the State should check their names in the final photo electoral roll made available with their respective BLOs (Booth-Level Officers), EROs (Electoral Registration Officers) and DEOs (District Election Offices).

All eligible people whose names haven't figured in the final photo electoral roll have to fill up Form 6 with relevant documents for date of birth, address proof etc. Those who want to do it online can visit the National Voter Service Portal – www.nvsp.in.
