Draft electoral roll published; growth of voters 1.78 percent

There is a 1.78 per cent growth of voters in 121 Assembly constituencies of the State as Assam Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) published the integrated draft electoral roll on Monday.

GUWAHATI: There is a 1.78 per cent growth of voters in 121 Assembly constituencies of the State as Assam Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) published the integrated draft electoral roll on Monday.

The final electoral roll will get published on January 5, 2022. The integrated draft electoral roll for 28-Gossaigaon, 107-Thowara, 58-Tamulpur, 101-Mariani and 41-Bhabanipur will get published on November 8.

A total of 2,68,277 have registered as new-generation voters within the age of 18-19. Of total 2,34,02,833 registered as eligible voters till November 1, altogether 1,18,25,381 are male and 1,15,77,065 are female voters.

A total of 387 third genders have also registered as eligible voters in the draft roll. The elector-population ratio as per the draft roll is 626, while the elector-gender ratio is 979.

As many as 3,20,050 have registered as *0+ voters in the state, while the total PwDs (Persons with Disability) electors is 1,47,481. The claims and objections will be received from November 1 to November 30. The claims and objections will be disposed of by December 20, before the publication of the final draft.
