Number of Female Candidates in Assam Assembly Election 2021: Compared to 2016 Assembly polls in the State, the number of female candidates is less in Assam Polls 2021. During the 2016 State polls, there were 91 female candidates out of 1,064 total candidates. Out of 946 candidates in the three-phase polls this year, only 74 are females.
Among the main candidates this year are BJP candidates Ajanta Neog (Golaghat), Angoorlata Deka (Batadroba), Surabhi Rajkumari (Sivasagar), and Suman Haripriya (Hajo).
The Congress candidates are Pranati Phukan (Naharkatiya), Nandita Das (Boko), Angkita Dutta (Amguri), Sibamoni Bora (Batadroba), Mira Borthakur (Gauhati-West), Ashima Bordoloi (Gauhati-East).
The AGP candidates are Roselina Tirki (Sarupathar), Renuprama Rajkhowa (Teok), Kalpana Patowary (Sarukhetri).
