GUWAHATI: The Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission today scrutinized the answer sheets of some candidates who had qualified in the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), 2014 of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

The Dibrugarh Police had probed the multi-crore APSC cash-for-job scam. During the investigation, the police seized all the answer sheets and submitted them to the Court of the Special Judge, here in Guwahati. The Assam Government later formed a one-man judicial inquiry commission headed by Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma, retired Judge of Gauhati High Court, to inquire into the allegations of anomalies and malpractices in the conduct of CCE, 2013 and CCE, 2014. The Commission had taken the permission of the court to examine the answer sheets of the candidates who had qualified in CCE, 2014.

Recently, the Commission received a complaint regarding anomalies in the selection of a few candidates. In this connection, the Commission today again scrutinized the answer sheets of those candidates against whom it had received the complaint.

According to sources, the Commission took photographs of the answer sheets and on examination of those photographs if the Commission finds any discrepancies, the Commission will seek permission from the court to re-examine those answer sheets.

On the other hand, the term of the Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission will expire on May 20, 2023.
