Four COVID-positive cases detected in Assam

GUWAHATI: Four COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Assam in the past few days. However, the State Government maintains that there is nothing to worry about and the Health Department is monitoring the situation.

Speaking to the media, Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said, “In the past few days, we have detected four COVID-19 positive cases in Kamrup (Metro) and Karimganj districts. All four patients are in home isolation. Their hospitalization is not necessary. We hope they will recover soon.” He further said, “The situation in Assam is not that serious. We are monitoring the entire situation in the state on a daily basis.”

Speaking to The Sentinel, GMCH Principal Dr. Achyut Kumar Baishya said, “Due to the change in weather, viral fever with the common cold has spread in the state. There is nothing to worry about. They, however, need to be cautious.”
