GUWAHATI: All obstacles have been cleared for conducting the Combined Competitive Examination (CEE) Mains examination 2020 by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) on February 21, February 22, February 23 and February 27, with the Gauhati High Court on Monday dismissing a writ petition which had requested the court to issue an order for deferment of the examination.
The petitioners contended that the CCE Main examination schedule clashes with the UPSC Mains examination, as a result of which some candidates would not be able to appear in either examination. Secondly, they challenged the pattern of question papers. Moreover, the petitioners have submitted that "there has been unexplained delay in issuing e-admission certificate and the authorities have also changed the pattern of examination very recently thereby causing serious prejudice to the interest of the petitioners."
The court, however, dismissed the petition while observing that there is no ground to interfere the examination process. The court further observed that since only five candidates will appear in the Indian Forest Service examination out of 3,897 candidates, therefore it is the choice of the candidates as to which examination they will appear for.
