With a motive to provide social and financial security to the Corona widows of the State, the State Government has launched the Chief Minister's COVID-19 Widow Support Scheme.

Criteria

The beneficiary's husband should have died with a COVID positive status, and the State Level COVID Death Audit Board should certify that.

The beneficiaries of 'Orunudoi' and 'Widow Pension' schemes are also eligible for the benefit under this scheme provided their husbands died of the COVID-19.

This scheme will not cover the COVID-19 widows of government employees. They will get a family pension as per the existing rules.

If any person fulfilling the eligibility criteria is missing in the list of beneficiaries, she can approach the deputy commissioner concerned with all supporting documents.

Documents needed

A certificate from the deputy commissioner concerned stating that the beneficiary fulfils each of the criteria and bank details like the bank's name and branch, account number, IFSC codes etc.
