GUWAHATI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak, Mohan Bhagwat, stressed the need to use the word Bharat instead of India.

The RSS chief attended a programme of the Sakal Jain Samaj at Bhagwan Mahavir Dharmasthal, Fancy Bazar, in Guwahati on Friday.

He said, “The name of our country has been Bharat since ancient times. Whatever the language, the name remains the same, and there is no change in the name. He said the country has been a centre of light and knowledge for centuries.”

Emphasizing the power of integration, he said, “India is a country that unites all. Today, the world needs us. Without us, the world cannot run.”

On the National Education Policy (NEP), Mohan Bhagwat said, “Through this, an attempt has been made to increase the feeling of Indianness among children.” At the beginning of the programme, Acharya Pramukh Sagar Ji Maharaj felicitated Mohan Bhagwat.
