Information about registration for scholarship

Both renewal and registra-tion under the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Scheme have been started at the National Scholarship Portal and www.scholarship.in.

The students who registered in 2017-18 and 2018-19 will have to renew their registration; and those who passed the NMMS-qualifying examination in 2019 will have to register themselves for the scholarship scheme. The last date for submission of applications for registration and renewal is October 15, 2020.

An amount of Rs 12,000 is paid every year as scholarship through DBT (Direct Beneficiary Transfer) for four years from Classes IX to XII, provided he/she gets over 55 per cent marks (for general category) and over 50 per cent mark (for ST/SC category) in Classes IX and X and Classes XI to XII the student will have secure 60 per cent (for general) and 55 per cent (SC/ST) marks.

NMMS examination is held in November-December every year in the country. Students of Class VIII from government schools appear in the qualifying examination to be eligible for registration under the scheme.
