GUWAHATI: Cut off is the buzzword among the jihadi modules active in Assam. According to an intelligence source, each of the jihadi modules in the state remains cut off from the rest of the jihadi modules insofar as their strategic plans and modus operandi.
This airtight information plugging helped the jihadi modules to keep their secrecies intact, which, in turn, has helped the leaders of the modules remain holed up in other states, the source claimed.
The police suspect more Bangladeshi jihadi leaders are active in the state. Jihadi leaders have, however, successfully given police the slip and shifted their bases to other states. The arrested jihadis confessed before the police that many jihadis were present at their religious congregations in Assam.
According to the source, the jihadi modules have only external links among them. However, each module remains tightlipped when it comes to sharing vital information.
Because of this information gap among the ground workers of different jihadi modules in the state, the arrested people for jihadi links could not give any vital information regarding the whereabouts of jihadi leaders, who, the intelligence sources believe, have fled Assam and holed up in other states.
