GUWAHATI: If the public comes across any instances of corruption at the panchayat level, then they should either file FIR (First Information Report) in the respective local police station or submit a written complaint to the Department official. This was stated by Panchayat & Rural Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

Talking to The Sentinel on Wednesday, Dass added, "The masses are quite conscious these days. The majority among them express their views and reactions in the social media. This move remains within its ambit. However, such developments remains outside the official domain.

Dass pointed out, "Hence, we urge the public to either submit a written complaint to the higher authorities concerned or file an FIR in the local police station. This process will help the investigating agencies. The truth behind such scams will be also exposed. "

On the allegations of fund misuse by a few beneficiaries under the (PMAY-G) — 'Prime Minister Awas Yojana', Minister Dass added, "Already FIRs have been filed against such people.

"Such beneficiaries receive three installments under the scheme. On the other hand, after receiving the first installment they proceeded outside the State wthout constructing their houses."
