GUWAHATI: The Health Department has noticed that some people have not yet taken the second dose of Covid vaccine even though their stipulated time to go for it is already over.
Against this backdrop, the Health Department and the NHM (National Health Mission) Assam have started a mega Covid vaccination drive from today especially to administer the second dose of the vaccine. This drive, named as the 'Good Governance Week', will continue till December 24, 2021.
Talking to 'The Sentinel', Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said, "I appeal to the eligible masses to take the second dose of Covid vaccine. We have sufficient stock of Covid vaccine." If any person takes the Covishield vaccine, they are eligible to take the second dose only after 84 days.
