GUWAHATI: 'Mor maati, mor adhikaar' (my land, my rights) is the essence of the first-ever pragmatic step – Mission Basundhara – set for launch in the state on October 2, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
Mission Basundhara aims at providing nine land-related services on a mission mode. It is one of the dream projects of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Under this mission, people can apply for the disposal of land-related problems from October 2, 2021, through a portal – basundhara.assam.gov.in – till November 30, 2021. The Revenue and Disaster Management (R&DM) Department will dispose of the applications in phases by May 10, 2022, when the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led BJP government at Dispur will complete a year.
The department will dispose of the applications with the help of DCs (deputy commissioners), ADCs-Revenue (additional deputy commissioners) and COs (circle officers).
The nine services that Mission Basundhara will render are –
(i) Land mutation by the right of inheritance.
(ii) Land mutation after deed registration.
(iii) Partition for undisputed cases.
(iv) Conversion of 'annual patta' to 'periodic patta'.
(v) Reclassification of land.
(vi) Striking names of persons who are no longer in possession.
(vii) Allotment certificate to periodic patta.
(viii) Legacy data update.
(ix) Mobile number update of pattadaar.
If people face any problem while applying through the portal, they can inform their respective circle officers. The government will also provide a toll-free number for that purpose.
Talking to The Sentinel, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Jogen Mohan said, "The land records of many people in the state are proper. The same land document has many names. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will launch Mission Basundhara on October 2, 2021. We are taking this initiative at the directive of the Chief Minister. We appeal to the people who have land-related problems to apply through the portal to get their problems solved."
