GUWAHATI: The State Government will provide lands to landless indigenous people of the state through a mechanism called Mini Mission. It will give land settlement thrice a year under this device.

Talking to The Sentinel, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Jogen Mohan said, "The State Government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid thrust on providing land settlement to the indigenous landless people of the state. Government has taken Mini Mission to assemble applications for land settlement, verify them and provide land settlement in feasible cases, after every four months."

The minister said, "Apart from bureaucrats, guardian ministers will also verify the lists of applications to deny ineligible applicants to get land settlement under Mini Mission. The original premium for land settlement in rural areas was Rs 500 per bigha. However, the government has reduced it to Rs 100 per bigha in Mission Basundhara. Landless indigenous people will also have to pay a premium at Rs 100 per bigha under Mini Mission."
