DEMOW: The National Highway-37 is in a pitiable condition in the Demow Madhupur area of the Sivasagar district and the travellers are having a harrowing time while commuting on this stretch due to the presence of big potholes.
The Sentinel has been continuously highlighting the pathetic condition of NH-37 in Demow, as also the fact that some tragic mishaps have taken place due to the dilapidated condition of road.
Moreover, people face serious problems while travelling on this stretch of the road during sunny weather due to proliferation of dust. Even though the potholes were repaired earlier, they had appeared again on this stretch of NH-37. There are allegations that the poor condition of NH-37 is the result of negligence in the work done by the construction companies.
The question arises as to when the four-laning works of NH-37 will be completed.
The local people have demanded of the construction companies to start the construction works of the four-lane in Demow at the earliest.
