STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI:

Assam Ministers Promises to Work for People of Assam: All the newly-elected State legislators who took oath ministers-designate on Monday said in a chorus that they would work for the welfare of the State.

Talking to The Sentinel after taking the oath, AGP president Atul Bora said, "In the run-up to the Assembly election, the BJP, AGP and the UPPL gave many commitments to the people of the assam. Now it's time for fulfilling all those commitments. "Under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, we'll work out ways to solve various problems, including floods, afflicting the State. We were with the people of the State in the past five years, and we will continue to be with them in the coming five years as well."

Former Rajya Sabha MP UG Brahma, who made it to Dispur for the first time, said, "I'll perform efficiently with honesty whatever responsibility the Chief Minister entrusts on me. I'll try my best to live up to the people's expectations."

Jogen Mohan said, "I had a one-year stint as a minister in the last coalition government led by Sarbananda Sonowal. During the stint, I've learnt that if one has the will one can work for the welfare of the people. I have the feeling that the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government in the state will be a successful one."

Keshab Mahanta of the AGP said, "In the last government we worked as team Assam. Since the people of Assam have given their mandate to the three-party alliance again, this government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma will work with more vigour. It won't let down people's expectations."

Ajanta Neog, the lone female minister in the team, said, "I'll work with dedication whatever responsibility is entrusted on me by the Chief Minister."
