No let-up in Covid cases in Assam

The Covid-19 is yet to relent in the state, where six districts registered over 200 Covid-19 positive cases in the past ten days.

GUWAHATI: The Covid-19 is yet to relent in the state, where six districts registered over 200 Covid-19 positive cases in the past ten days. Majuli is the only district in the state that reported no positive cases in the past ten days.

The Dibrugarh district registered 379 positive cases from July 28 to August 6, 2022. The other five districts registering over 200 Covid-19 positive cases in the past ten days are – 340 in Kamrup (M), 274 in Lakhimpur, 264 in Cachar, 246 in Dhemaji and 239 in Sonitpur.

Thirteen other districts in the state registered over 100 positive cases each during the past ten days. The districts are Sivasagar (199), Biswanath (193), Goalpara (176), Kamrup (167), Tinsukia (152), Baksa (151), Darrang (144), Jorhat (141), Hailakandi (139), Golaghat (124), Karbi Anglong (123), Karimganj (109) and Barpeta (105).

The state had 4,426 active cases till Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, the health fraternity in the state inoculated 4,89,98,275 doses – 2,46,57,453 first doses, 2,18,20,614 second doses and 25,20,208 precaution doses – of Covid-19 vaccines till 8 this evening.
