The State Health department has issued an order discontinuing mandatory Covid-19 testing at airports, railway stations and land routes from March 1, 2021.

No Mandatory COVID-19 Test Advised in Assam: The State Health department has issued an order discontinuing mandatory Covid-19 testing at assam airports, railway stations & land routes from March 1, 2021. The order has, however, urged the people to adhere to "Covid appropriate behaviour" such as wearing masks in larger public interest.

The Assam government will continue to maintain Covid-19 testing facility at designated hospitals. "In view of the rapidly declining cases of #COVID-19 & given that vaccination is in full swing, GoA has decided to discontinue mandatory Coronavirus testing at railway stations, land routes & airports from March 1, 2021," Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently tweeted.
