GUWAHATI: Now on there won't be any vaccination without COVID-19 test. Such a move has been taken as there is an apprehension that some COVID-19 positive people may take vaccines.

The State Health and Family Welfare Department has now come with a fresh SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) on Monday night. According to the new SOP, COVID-19 testing centres should be attached to vaccination centres on the same premises, but at different locations.

According to the new SOP, while setting up additional  COVID-19 vaccination centres the following measures are to be taken –

  1. Educational institutions or community halls housing COVID-19 vaccination centres are to be located within 2/3 km radius of health institutions,
  2. Maintenance of physical distancing and avoiding overcrowding,
  3. Vaccination centres must have at least three rooms each – a waiting room, a vaccination room and an observation room, and
  4. Availability of adequate sitting arrangements, drinking water and toilet facilities.

This COVID-19 SOP further said that a vaccination team has to inoculate 200 beneficiaries a day. There should be crowd management plans at the assam vaccination centres .
