Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway cancels trains after Bihar's Agnipath protests

GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway has either cancelled, partially cancelled or short terminated as many as 21 trains due to damage caused to railway property by agitators in areas falling under the East Central Railway, including the setting on fire of six coaches of the Guwahati-Jammu-Tawi Lohit Express today at the Mohiuddin Nagar railway station of Bihar.

An NF Railway communiqué stated that there were no casualties or injury to any passenger on board the train. There were 1,169 passengers on the train. Helpline numbers manned by railway staff are already functional at different locations. It further informed that due to damage of the railway track between Nalbari and Ghograpar railway stations station under the Rangiya division of NF Railway, services of 15 trains have been either cancelled or diverted via the Kamakhya-Goalpara Town-New Bongaigaon route.
