GUWAHATI: The State Government will study the verdict of the Gauhati High Court on the Independence Day bomb blast in Dhemaji in 2004. The government may move the Supreme Court of India if it gets legal advice towards that end.

The Gauhati High Court acquitted five accused of the blast on the benefit of doubt yesterday.

When asked about the verdict of the Gauhati High Court, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “I have asked the DGP to study the verdict of the Gauhati High Court. If we get legal advice, we will appeal to the Supreme Court. Let’s see how the honourable judges have come to that conclusion. A copy of the judgement was not available with us till yesterday.
