Passage of bills will pave the way for promised 1 lakh jobs to youths: CM

GUWAHATI: The State Government has lined up 15 bills, including the bill to amend the Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2021, for introduction in the Winter Session of the state Assembly. The five-day session will start on Monday. The 15 bills also included a new one – the Assam Direct Recruitment Commissions for Analogous Posts in Class III and Class IV Bill, 2021. The session will conclude on December 24, 2021.
Talking to the media today, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "This session is important for the government. The passage of the recruitment-related bills in the session will pave the way for the promised jobs to one lakh youths of the state. "The cattle preservation Act will also come up for amendment. This amendment will empower the government to sell vehicles used for transporting smuggled cattle."
The bills are –
1. The Assam Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
2. The Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
3. The Deori Autonomous Council (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
4. The Assam Tribal Development Authority (Repeal) Bill, 2021.
5. The Assam Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Posts in Services) (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
6. The Assam Municipal (Third Amendment) Bill, 2021.
7. The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
8. The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
9. The Assam Excise (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
10. The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Re-settlement (Assam Amendment) Bill, 2021.
11. The Assam Fixation of Ceiling on Land Holding (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
12. The Assam Direct Recruitment Commissions for Analogous Posts in Class III and Class IV Bill, 2021.
13. The Assam Cattle Preservation (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
14. The Assam Police (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
15. The Assam Motor Vehicle Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
